Half Hourly Metering

SAVE UP TO 40% ON MOP, DA & DC AGREEMENTS

Unlike a domestic supply where your usage is calculated periodically a half hourly meter records electricity usage every 30 minutes.  This helps to build a unique profile of your usage for business.

Before the introduction of P272 some higher volume supplies without half hourly meters were charged according to a standardised load profile, rather than having usage recorded through the day.  P272 required all these businesses to move to half hourly meters which constantly record use.

Nowadays most half hourly meter bills will include a charge for metering.

So what do these charges mean and what are they for?

Meter Operator

A meter operator (MO or MOP) in the UK energy industry is an organization responsible for installing and maintaining electricity meters.

Data Aggregation

Data aggregation is any process in which information is gathered and expressed in a summary form. This is used to support client’s managing their usage to support them using less.

Data Collection

Collecting usage data every half hour. This provides your half hourly data that can be used to determine your peak demands and total usages.

What you may not be aware of, is that you are able to contract with different companies to provide these services.  We are able to provide a nationwide metering service for half hourly supplies at very competitive pricing providing savings of up to 40%.
